Question 1

How much does a marketing retainer cost?

Accepted Answer

Marketing retainers at The Marketing Bit start at £750 per month for 3 monthly marketing activities. A 4-activity retainer is £950 per month, and 5 or more activities starts from £1,200 per month. You choose which activities to include from social media, SEO, email marketing, paid advertising, target outreach, HubSpot maintenance, website maintenance, and reporting.

Question 2

What is included in a marketing retainer?

Accepted Answer

You choose 3 or more monthly marketing activities to build your retainer bundle. Available activities include social media management, Google and AI search optimisation, email marketing, paid advertising, B2B target outreach, HubSpot CRM maintenance, website maintenance, and monthly reporting. The number of activities you choose determines the monthly price.

Question 3

Do you offer one-off marketing projects?

Accepted Answer

Yes. One-off projects include website design and build from £2,500, trade show and event management from £1,200, HubSpot CRM setup from £1,200, and marketing strategy sessions from £500 for a half-day or £900 for a full day. Projects can run alongside a retainer or as standalone work.

Question 4

What is the difference between a marketing retainer and a one-off project?

Accepted Answer

A retainer covers ongoing monthly marketing activities like social media, SEO, and email marketing on a regular basis. A one-off project is a specific piece of work with a fixed scope and price, such as a new website, a trade event, or a strategy session. Many clients combine both, using a retainer for ongoing activity and adding projects as needed.

Question 5

Do I need a marketing agency or a marketing consultant?

Accepted Answer

For independent and growing businesses, a consultant often offers better value than an agency. With The Marketing Bit, you work directly with Tash Kenyon rather than being passed to junior account managers. There is no billing for internal meetings, no account layers, and no one who has never actually run a campaign. You get senior marketing expertise without the agency overhead.

Question 6

How long before I see results from marketing?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the activity. Paid advertising can generate results within days. SEO typically takes 3 to 6 months to show meaningful movement. Social media and email marketing build momentum over time, usually with visible engagement improvements within the first 1 to 2 months. A retainer is designed for sustained results, not a one-month fix.

Question 7

Where is The Marketing Bit based?

Accepted Answer

The Marketing Bit is based in Sussex and works with independent and growing businesses across the UK. Work is delivered remotely and in person across Sussex and the South East.

Question 8

Will I work directly with Tash?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There are no junior account managers or layers of team between you and the work. You work directly with Tash Kenyon, who does the work herself and is available on a direct line whenever you need it.
